Yorkshire Wedding Venue
River Mills Ballroom has a long and eclectic past, spending some of its life as a building merchant’s, a mill, a dance hall and even a roller-disco before being converted into a wedding and performance venue by the Fisher family in 2016.
Since that time, loving care and attention has been given to bringing to life all the beautiful and charming industrial and theatrical features including uncovering much of the building’s original brickwork.

The Studios
Unlike many other industrial style wedding venues which are simply large “box” spaces, River Mills Ballroom has a spacious ballroom accompanied by two smaller studios which can be put to many different uses from a ceremony space to an intimate dining room, a chill-out space to an indoor fun-fair – the limit is your imagination.
The recently uncovered fireplace in Studio Two is an eye-catching centrepiece and several of our couples have plans to decorate it with flowers and candles – creating a perfect backdrop for their wedding ceremony.
River Mills Ballroom is located in Selby, a small Yorkshire market town just minutes away from York and the M62. Surrounded by farms and fields, Selby is a perfect location for your wedding as it is close to many bigger cities such as York and Leeds but doesn’t share the same traffic or congestion problems.
Your guests can park for the whole day just 50 metres away from our venue for as little as £3.50 a day – a price that most central city venues can’t even compete with.
Selby has several hotels and B&B’s within a short walk or drive away which means your guests can have an easy night’s sleep after a full and fun day!

We offer a wide variety of packages – from DIY packages with no corkage to fully managed including bar service, onsite coordination and assistance with decoration and breakdown so you can sit back, relax and enjoy your day.
